Center ( Cameroon )
Founded over 30 years ago by Sister Amelie Balla Mengongo, Foyer Saint Augustin Orphanage was born out of a divine calling to care for children in desperate need—those abandoned, orphaned, or left without a home. Inspired by the scripture from Exodus 3:7-12, Sister Amelie dedicated her life to being a voice of hope for children in distress. Run by the Catholic religious community known as “Maranatha at the Heart of the World”, the orphanage is located on the road to the airport on the outskirts of Yaoundé, Cameroon’s capital city. Foyer Saint Augustin provides a safe, stable, and faith-rooted environment, offering not only shelter but also a holistic education—spiritually, emotionally, and academically. Every child is given the tools they need to grow into independent, self-reliant young adults ready to reintegrate into society with dignity. Despite its incredible impact, the orphanage faces financial challenges that make it difficult to meet the growing needs of the children. The mission remains strong, but support is essential to continue providing food, healthcare, education, and life skills to the children who call this place home. Your kind support helps transform lives—giving these children the opportunity to dream, to learn, and to build a better future.
