AVISA Donor Protection & Giving Guarantee Policy

At AVISA, we are committed to ensuring your generosity reaches its intended purpose. We protect donors, uphold transparency, and build trust between our global community and verified causes—whether supporting an orphanage, an individual fundraiser, or a community project.
This policy outlines:
- How we protect donors from fraud, misuse, or mismanagement.
- The conditions under which you may be eligible for a refund.
- The steps AVISA takes to ensure your donation makes a measurable impact.
- Scope of Protection
This policy applies to:
- Donations made to verified orphanages under the Fund a Child to School feature.
- Donations made to individual fundraisers hosted on the AVISA platform.
- Donations made on or after August 11, 2025, 11:45 PM WAT.
- Our Protection Measures
- Verified Beneficiaries & Partnership Agreements
- Orphanages: Must pass legal and operational verification, including proof of registration and a signed partnership agreement with AVISA.
- Fundraisers: Organizers must provide proof of identity and relevant documentation to verify legitimacy before launching a campaign.
What this means for donors: Guaranteed legitimacy — donations only go to verified and approved beneficiaries.
Fraud prevention — unauthorized entities cannot create campaigns on AVISA.
- Secure Fund Transfers
- Funds are routed directly to the beneficiary’s verified account.
- Orphanages and fundraisers are prohibited from using donations for unauthorized purposes.
- All financial transactions are monitored by AVISA for compliance.
What this means for donors: No middlemen — your donation reaches its intended recipient.
Direct impact — funds are used only for the stated campaign purpose.
- Transparency & Donor Updates
- Orphanages provide donors with academic progress reports and general impact updates.
- Fundraisers are required to post regular updates to their campaign page.
- Donors can track impact in real time via the AVISA app.
- Zero Tolerance for Fraud or Misuse
- Any orphanage or fundraiser found misusing funds will be suspended and removed.
- AVISA will investigate all reported cases of fraud or mismanagement.
- Verified fraud will result in immediate corrective actions, including possible refunds.

Eligibility for Refund
You may request a refund if:
- Funds were misused or not applied to the stated cause.
- You made an unauthorized or mistaken donation.
- The beneficiary failed to meet agreed transparency requirements.
Refund requests must be submitted:
- Within one (1) year for misuse claims.
- Within 7–14 days for mistaken or unauthorized transactions.
Exclusions
Refunds are not available for:
- Donations not made on the AVISA platform.
- Donations made to your own fundraiser.
- Donations already refunded via a chargeback.
- Claims made more than one year after the donation.
- Abusive or excessive claims (more than three in a month).
How to Submit a Claim
- Contact our support team via the AVISA app or email claim@avisaafrica.com.
- Provide complete and accurate information as requested.
- Cooperate fully with AVISA, payment partners, or law enforcement during investigations.
- Security & Compliance
- Payment Security: All transactions processed through trusted, PCI-DSS compliant gateways.
- Data Protection: AVISA complies with international privacy laws to protect donor and beneficiary data.
- Record Retention: Donor transactions are stored for tax and compliance purposes.
- Platform Commission
- 8% platform fee for orphanage donations (92% goes directly to the orphanage).
- 10% platform fee for fundraising campaigns (90% goes directly to the fundraiser).
These fees sustain platform operations, donor support, and security.
- No Waiver
Failure by AVISA to enforce any part of this policy at any given time does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later. All provisions remain in full force and effect unless modified in writing by AVISA.
- Modification or Termination
AVISA may update or terminate this policy at any time. Changes will be posted on the AVISA website or app, and claims submitted before the change will be processed under the previous version.
- Entire Agreement
This policy constitutes the entire agreement between AVISA and the donor regarding donation protection and refund eligibility.
